Award winning British designer Giles Deacon showed his collection on the pret-a-porter stage today as Paris Fashion Week
came to a close. Having been awarded the prestigious French ANDAM prize in June,
Deacon had to forsake London Fashion Week for a trip to Paris and over 100,000 euro!
The show began with style icon Daphne Guinness strutting down the runway complete with
a furry arachnid friend nestled in her bust and so the theme continued through the rest
of the show. Dresses embroidered with yet more spiders and dinosaur shaped
bags - the triceratops was a big hit for me -made
for a light hearted show, quite far removed from the more mature style that he has
been associated with. Deacon later confessed to having a fascination with spiders,
one that this writer doesn’t share, especially when they decide that they’d like to share a bath
